The images in this series explores 'uprooted roots'.
The photographs were taken on Terra's first trip to Surinam in 2023. As her connection to her Surinamese heritage was absent throughout her childhood it was a confronting venture into the unknown. When the artist travelled into the Amazon the nature and her connection to it redefined the meaning of home.
This series is dedicated to feeling the absence of home while redefining it.
